Hotel Overview
The Hotel San Antonio de la Florida was built in 1961 , inside the historical center of Madrid but near the beautiful area of the river Manzanares , between nature with the Park of Casa de Campo and the city with only ten minutes walking to the centric Puerta del Sol .
All transport and services at the door , we count with Tube that takes you in 30 minutes to the airport of Madrid , and could transport you in a few minutes to when ever you would like to go in Madrid , buses and taxis also at the door , and a wonderful human equip that would explain you how to get to your destiny .
We count with coffee shop and restaurant , also there are many offer inside the commercial center we have in front of us , restaurants , movies and shops , open all year round , we also give our clients the oportunity of book trips, entrances to shows (there is only five minute walking to Gran Via where there are all the musical theatres of Madrid ) , excursions and Flamenco Shows .
There is parking inside the hotel , and in the surrounding area . The hotel is situated near the M-30 so is easily available by car , and very practical for those who came by car and don´t know how to move inside Madrid with it.
The situation of the hotel gives the possibility to our clients to get to the main attractions of Madrid by walk, for example in ten minutes walking you can visit the Palacio Real gardens , the Plaza de Oriente , Calle Mayor ,Plaza de la Villa with the Mayor house , Plaza mayor and Puerta del Sol , if you like a longer walk of half an hour you could arrive to Museum Thisen-Bornemisza and the Prado Museum . For those looking for a diferent vision of Madrid , 30 minutes walking from hour hotel you would arrive to the Rastro a open market of Sundays morning where you can found from a puppy to a Luis XVI chair , handicrafts , books , clothes , etc.
On June 13 we can experiment one of the most " Castizos" moments of Madrid , the church os San Antonio celebrates the saint day where all the young ladies not married come to San Antonio to ask for a marriage , there is said from centuries ago that any women would ask for a marriage to the saint and put her hand into the " Pila de agua bendita " with " alfileres" , if some of the "alfileres " got pinch in her hand she will be married in that year . That day there is a long number of women waiting for the ritual , all dressed in the typical costume of Madrid named "Chulapos y Chulapas " , there is also a "feria" and dances of "Chotis" at the street , with many open restaurants to try Madrid food and enjoy "la Movida"!
